Atelier Ellis - As you Pass By: Friendship, gathering and grace
We pass the seasonal baton from Virginia Woolf to Henry Thoreau, celebrating singularity, friendship, and society.
Thoreau wrote “I had three chairs in my house; one for solitude, two for friendship, three for society.”
Home is often centred around family, but we wanted to celebrate friendship through a distinctive new colour story of three. Black, white and red are colours that are sometimes visually opposing but also beautifully connected. This is our painterly take on gathering together, to break bread, share wine as well as our thoughts and ideas.
Displaying a new palette for the winter until April 2024, in different spaces, the new colours share space with a quiet palette of soft greys, pale yellow and warm whites. A palette cleanser of time.
